PLING – Use Case Site Visits, March 16–19

#PLING-Project — Platform-based integration and use of mining data!

Following a get-together dinner in Freiberg on 16 March, the consortium spent three days visiting all three use cases together with the industry partners:

Use Case Altenberg

We toured the core storage facility, discussed multi-sensor in-situ mapping of geology and mineralogy, and explored robot-supported geotechnical characterisation in underground operations.

Use Case Altenberg

Werra (Unterbreizbach)

Operated by K+S. The team went underground to discuss sensor integration, algorithm development for the identification of salt minerals, and real-time updating of resource models.

Use Case Werra (K+S)

Hüttenheim

Operated by Knauf. Underground visit and discussion of demonstration scenarios for the project.

Use Case Hüttenheim (Knauf)

A great start to our collaboration — three days of productive exchange between science and industry, laying the foundation for our joint work.

This project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) within the “EGARoh” funding programme under grant no. 033R433A.
