Knauf

Knauf Gips KG is a globally leading company in the extraction and processing of gypsum raw materials. In the PLING project, Knauf provides the Hüttenheim demonstration site and trials sensor-based boundary-layer detection as well as automated drill rig alignment.

RESEARCH

RWTH Aachen – AMT

AMT at RWTH Aachen conducts research on the automation, digitalisation and electrification of mining processes – from autonomous navigation and robotics to material characterisation and production control. In the PLING project, AMT is responsible for setting up the mobile sensor platform as well as SLAM-based localisation and sensor-supported process control.
RESEARCH

RWTH Aachen – MRE

The Institute of Mineral Resources Engineering (MRE) at RWTH Aachen has proven expertise in raw material extraction, technologies and process optimisation. Its central research focus lies in sustainable raw material extraction, environmental monitoring as well as ecological, social/ethical and economic assessments.
INDUSTRY

Innomotics

Innomotics specialises in drive technology, automation and digitalisation of industrial processes. In the PLING project, Innomotics develops the data integration platform for the real-time transmission and processing of sensor data into operational software solutions.

RESEARCH

TU Bergakademie Freiberg

The Institute of Mine Surveying and Geodesy at TU Bergakademie Freiberg specialises in geomodelling, surveying and multi-sensor solutions for the mining sector. As coordinator of PLING, it leads the project and develops algorithms for the real-time updating of resource models as well as exploration optimisation.

Zinnwald Lithium GmbH is an associated partner and is advancing the development of lithium deposits in the Erzgebirge region.

K+S Group

The K+S Group is an associated partner and a globally leading supplier of mineral products such as potash and salt raw materials. The group contributes valuable expertise in raw material exploration and production as well as knowledge of the challenges and potentials in the extraction and processing of raw materials. The K+S mine sites provide an ideal basis for demonstrating PLING.
